Welcome to the Milwaukee Chapter of the ISSA
The ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for security professionals. The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources. The ISSA facilitates interaction and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and for the professionals involved.
Members include practitioners at all levels of the security field in a broad range of industries, such as communications, education, health-care, manufacturing, financial and government. As a member you will join other professionals sharing knowledge on the latest security trends, controls, and regulations while building a social network of your peers. Milwaukee ISSA February Security Event
ATTACK vs. DEFENSE That's How It's Done
On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, the ISSA - Milwaukee Chapter will be holding a "Attack vs. Defense, That's How It's Done" event in New Berlin, WI.
This 1/2 day event will consist of an Attack vs Defense presentation by Michael Vieau, Sr Security Administrator at Froedtert and SANS mentor - utilizing a special virtual environment that will show what a system looks like from both the attacker and defense side and how to mitigate the damage. The FBI Cyber Crime division will be demonstrating the creation of a Botnet and will be available to answer any questions. It will be a VERY exciting event!
The event will start with an ISSA Milwaukee and Madison chapter Members Only lunch from 11-12:30 with the FBI - The Creation of a Botnet presentation. You can join ISSA or renew your membership at www.issa.org.
At 12:30 we will open the event up to guests for the Attack vs. Defense presentations. During the breaks visit some top security vendors.
